Arne Fredrik Lånke, co-founder of Elinor, recently presented at NTNU Team Battery Seminar. Here seen talking about the importance of NTNU at the Elinor launch.

Elinor Batteries seeks close cooperation with NTNU. The university will play an essential role in educating the future employees in Norway’s battery industry.

This was part of the message in the company’s presentation at the Team Battery Seminar, a yearly happening that gathers a large number of professional staff and students working on topics that are related to the battery industry.

Elinor is already in dialogue with several institutes at NTNU, seeking cooperation on the cross-disciplinary competencies involved in batteries and energy storage. Research and education in battery technology and production, as well as recruitment, will be on top of the agenda in the discussions between the parties over the coming weeks.

Ingeborg Kaus, SINTEF, Arne Fredrik Lånke, Elinor Batteries, and Ann Mari Svensson, NTNU, in discussions at the opening of SINTEFs battery lab, a key facility both for battery and talent development.

Arne Fredrik Lånke, Co-founder of Elinor, also talked about why Central Norway is an excellent place for battery cell production and why it is a great idea for Norway to establish a home market for stationary energy storage solutions.

- Norway has a long tradition for focusing on optimal grid utilization and dealing with fluctuating renewables. This is a great starting point, and a well developed home market, although not huge, will increase our chances of creating competent market players in all parts of the value chain, says Lånke.
