Elinor Batteries and RISE: Partnering to accelerate and scale up Elinor's market entry

Elinor Batteries is proud to announce a new strategic collaboration with RISE Research Institutes of Sweden. The collaboration entails testing batteries for BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) applications. Elinor will leverage RISE’s competency and facilities to rapidly increase its testing capabilities, enabling the qualification of products for the fast-growing BESS market. The new partnership strengthens Elinor’s mission to help decarbonize Europe with sustainably sourced and produced battery products.

The partnership between RISE and Elinor is a well-founded and forward-oriented step in Elinor’s establishment of battery production in central Norway.

“By conducting battery safety and performance testing at RISE, we can accelerate our time to market. This collaboration is the perfect addition to our ongoing and fruitful work with SINTEF. By teaming up with strategic partners, we can meet the sophisticated and specific needs of the BESS market.”, says Holger Gritzka, Chief Product Officer of Elinor Batteries.

The collaboration expands Elinor’s capabilities in product testing, focusing on joint testing and qualification with customers. In working with RISE, Elinor will leverage extensive research expertise and state-of-the-art knowledge. The collaboration will increase Elinor’s testing capacity and enable scaling up to meet the demands of large customers.

“At RISE, we support cutting-edge technologies that drive sustainable development. Our work with Elinor Batteries exemplifies our commitment to enhancing sustainability in the battery industry, particularly in the BESS sector. We are proud to enter this partnership.”, says Paul Halle Zahl Pedersen, senior Vice President Safety and Transport at RISE.

The battery tests are conducted at RISE laboratory for Battery Safety Testing in Borås, while the performance tests are done at the SEEL facility in Gothenburg. The initial test data shows promising results, indicating significant advancements in battery performance and safety standards.

“Elinor Batteries continues to expand research and development capabilities through partnerships. This not only enhances product quality but also ensures technological leadership in the competitive battery industry. We are looking forward to supporting the European green transition with energy storage”, says Truls Johansen, Chief Strategy Officer of Elinor Batteries.
